  • Kathy Barrett - President

I have been a member of Resurrection since 1987. During my many years of membership, I have served as an usher; been on the Women of RLC board as coordinating secretary, program chair, and president; served on the board of the School Supply Project and as a Stephen Minister Leader. I have also served on the Congregational Council as a liaison to the then ARK preschool and over the past two years as vice-president and chairman of the Stewardship Committee. A retired elementary school counselor, I am active in the community as a member of the Plano Retired Teachers Association and perform as a puppeteer for the Kids Count Players, a volunteer group of the Collin County Children's Advocacy Center which presents puppet shows throughout Collin County for children in kindergarten through second grade on child abuse awareness. I feel very blessed to have my RLC family!

  • Becky Schuerman Choi - LIAISON for Serve ministries

I am a relative newbie to Resurrection since joining in November 2017 but didn't waste time finding ways to get involved. I joined Sounds of Joy early but still consider myself a mere ding-a-ling since my handbell skills pale in comparison to others. Behind the scenes, I have helped with the 2018 God's Work, Our Hands Sunday, VBS, Stewardship Team, and occasionally Rally, in addition to serving as an usher. You may also find the Choi family in the kitchen, hosting coffee hour. I was born Lutheran in DeWitt, Nebraska; am a graduate of Kansas State University and the University of Texas-Arlington; and was a bicycle and pedestrian planner before Greta was born. Most recently, I was the office manager of Elim Lutheran Church in lovely Petaluma, California. Since relocating back to Texas, I manage to avoid finding a “real” job by adding more volunteer responsibilities through RLC, the Robinson Middle School PTA, and the Live Green in Plano program. I am married to Howard “Chili Champ” Choi, and my daughter, Greta, enjoys hanging out with her friends in the RLC Confirmation program.

  • Lynn Bosse - Liaison for Support Ministries

  • Sallie Diamond - Liaison for Ancillary Ministries

My husband and I moved with our son and daughter to Plano in March of 2000. In May we became involved in Troop 1000 which has been chartered by RLC since the church opened. We began attending church services and became active in various projects and activities, helping wherever we could. I became a committee member, committee chairman, and then charter organization representative of the Boy Scout troop. When Crew 1000 started, I became committee chair of the crew. I was also involved in starting Troop 3000 this past February 2019. At this time, I am the charter organization representative for Troop 1000, Crew 1000, Pack 1225, and Troop 3000. I continue to hold the position of Youth Protection Champion for the Chisholm Trail District of Circle Ten Council and have been training committee chairman. I am a Red Cross instructor, climbing instructor, and have attended and staffed on various Wood Badge leadership courses. Rick and I became members of the church and started helping with the youth groups and confirmation. I have received the Lutheran Servant to Youth medal and the Lutheran Lamb Award. I currently help with Sunday school sixth-eighth grade, confirmation, and RALLY. I had the opportunity to attend confirmation camp this past summer with our youth. In August 2000, I started working for Plano ISD at Brinker Elementary School in the special education department as a para-professional. In 2003 I received my special education teacher certification. I currently teach a structured teach classroom working with a variety of students. Rick and I have decided that Plano will be our permanent home in retirement. I look forward to serving Resurrection and attracting new members to our wonderful congregation.

  • Michelle Roche - Liaison for Witness Miistries

I joined RLC in 2009 after I experienced a painful divorce. The love and support that I received from my RLC family got me through a very tough time. I will be forever grateful. I am currently on the Welcome Committee. I was born in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1962. In 1974 my father decided he could not handle one more Ohio winter so we moved to Huntington Beach, CA. I moved to Plano in l993. I have two sons, Kyle 31 and Christopher 29. I have a beautiful and amazing granddaughter, Jacqueline who is 7. My family means everything to me, and I am blessed to have such a wonderful family. I graduated from UTD in 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts in Literary Studies. I also completed my teaching certification in Secondary English. While I was substitute teaching and looking for a full time job, I was asked to do a long-term sub position in Special Education at a middle school in Plano. It didn't take me long to figure out that is where I was meant to be. I have been working in Special Education at the elementary school level for 11 years. It can be difficult at times, but I love my students like they were my own. They inspire me to be a better person.

  • Stephanie Waterman - Liaison for Learn Ministries

I have been a member of RLC since 2014.  I am married with one son who is in the 9th grade.  I am a licensed family physician currently unemployed.  Although l have been living in the DFW area since 1994, I grew up in the north Houston town of Tomball as a pastor’s kid and lifelong Lutheran. Currently, I reside in Allen.   At RLC, this is my second year teaching Sunday School.  Before RLC, I taught Sunday School for 4 years at King of Glory Lutheran.  At Redeemer Lutheran in FW, I was the bell choir director for 2 years and a choir member.  As a teen, I sang in the adult choir, taught Sunday school, directed the children’s choir and ran the VBS program.  I view this nomination as an opportunity to add my input and other members’ concerns to the council regarding Christian education and worship.
