VBS / Day Camp 2022

Coming to Resurrection Lutheran Church

June 13-17

Day Camp/VBS: Due to many months of isolation and social distancing, we have been unable to take our usual weekends excursions to Briarwood Lutheran Camp. So we are excited to announce our partnership with Lutherhill Camping Ministries. Lutherhill has trained camp staff that will come and spend a week with us at Resurrection. The Staff will lead us through a real camp week!

Lutherhill Day Camp at Resurrection

Lutherhill Day Camp at Resurrection is designed to be flexible. Several basic elements create its unique character and appeal. Lutherhill Day Camp at Resurrection involves these basic ingredients.

Our theme for the summer is COME AS YOU ARE! All are welcome at Jesus' table of grace, just as we are. No dress code, no prerequisites. Jesus invites all people to come. And when we break bread together, Christ is revealed in our midst. "Then Jesus said, ‘Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.’” - Matthew 11:28-30 Sunday

Village Time: Participants are divided into groups called Villages. Bible Studies, nature learning, service opportunities, arts & crafts, and games take place during Village Time.

Daily Bread Project: Campers will learn about and participate in a social justice project that incorporates the theme and allows campers to learn age-appropriate ways they can be servants of God’s creation.

Community Closing Celebration: Campers, Small Group Assistants and the Lutherhill Day Camp team will present a Community Closing Celebration program for families, friends and congregation members. This can be a time for the campers to sing new songs they have learned or share their God-given talents.
